I am so blessed to have access to this little gem of a shop LITTLE BITS. Sat's workshop proved to be so much fun as usual. We made a few strange cards with weird angles that proved to be a huge fun. here as a couple examples as well as a tri-fold card (THANKS TO SPILTCOAST STAMPERS)
Sun afternoon.. I thought it would be great to have a family afternoon at the theatre...... Slava's Snow Show was pure delight for all ages. clowning around amongst the snow ( little bits of white and silver paper) Clowns entertained us in a very non traditional way. Captivating and engaging every part of our imaganation, senses and inner-child possible. I would love to see this show again and again.. to end the show there was a giant snow blizard blown across the audience.. we couldn't even open our eyes!.. LOVED IT !
Another weekend is here and Christmas is another step closer.. I must begin a drasic cleanup of my house and make it a home again. Something about spring weather makes me feel like cleaning..don't know if it is the sun shinning throughout the rooms highlighting the dust ect. We have just bought a new cooktop and rangehood for the kitchen to match the new oven, and hopefully that will get installed before the weekend is over.
Day off today ! yeah more time to do some stamping. Yes I know one track mind... until I realised I had to take Makayla for appointments today. Still I made a couple of cards some late last night after work and some this afternoon.
Another of Sue's cards this one she created the background with stampin up reinkers droped onto gloss card stock and water spitzed over.. then sandwiched another gloss card onto the top of that for a mirrored imaged. Then used the Regal rose to over stamp...nice effect
The day was perfect for a christening... even if it was my new stamp kit! My guests were all full of energy and enthusiam. Sue was cooking with gas... the creative flow was running wild. Mark was on the coffee machine churning out HOT coffee and HOT chocolate YUM YUM !
Just seeing so many new things was quite overwhelming and I did not produce 1 card.
NO FAIR :-(
However on the
brighter side I got my first customer, quite unexpected. YEAH!
I don't know what came over me today, maybe it was the weather (a nice spring day) I was overcome with the sense of redecorating and spring cleaning combined. I decided to paint the kitchen ( I mean all of it ! ) tiles, cupboards ect. I can only taste paint fumes now.. yuk! however I'm pleased with the outcome of the kitchen. :-)
Another challenging evening at work reminds me of the importance of being able to switch off! The agency nurse or employment co. didn't do right.. one person down the whole shift.. accreditation week this week as well. I am thankful we had a wonderful team on. It's good to put all that behind you when you walk out those doors.
Mental note to self : I must enlarge my creative space.. to small..mmmnnnn
Finally my Stampin' Up ! kit has arrived! YES !! Milo was excited more than I was .. (he thought it was a very big bone I'm sure) I am inviting a selected few over to pull apart my new kit and play with it on the weekend..... Can't wait. We are going to have such a blast!
The love of BLING has led me to taking a foils class at my local craft store ( Little Bits). The result I think is stunning! We used special sheets of foil (the same as printers use for hot foiling). I then used a gold sticker over my foiled background to create this lovely centre-piece.
I have been so busy lately with all the things us women do (life) that it has been so hard to find the time to find my creative mojo.
So when the going gets tough I head off to Sue's place (a drop in centre for all the creative ladies I know) as her door is nearly always open. And she has a warm open area to spread out.
When her hubby is home we have the coffee machine going and on a good day yummy home baked goodies to go with the cuppa's.
I do however have an ongoing fight with one of the cats that live in the house. We contastly fight over the leasure space and the heater which it knows I must be closest to!
After lots off double shots of Earl Greay tea (yep we had to bring out the heavy duty stuff !) I managed to get a few cards done that I was happy with.
This card was so quick and easy to do. cuttlebug has a few new folders out this is one of them. I used a sliver paper weight paper and then buffed the embossed areas with metallic rub then backed it with black card stock.
The scalloped oval punch is by Stampin' Up! as well as the Oval All stamp set. (embossed in silver) black satin ribbon to finish it off.
